Problems of the Legal Regulation of Transnational Corporations

The monograph is devoted to the problems of the legal regulation of transnational corporations (TNCs), the status of corporations, the organisation of their activities and the relations between subjects of corporate law. The author analyses existing views on the concept of the legal status of TNCs, examines corporate legislation and considers issues of corporate governance. The first chapter addresses the place and role of TNCs in contemporary international economic relations, their legal nature as subjects of private international law, and doctrines on the legal regulation of their activities. The second chapter deals with the grounds for classifying TNCs, the legal personality of holdings and the legal status of financial-industrial groups. The third chapter assesses the importance of TNCs in Uzbekistan’s investment processes, the current state of their regulation in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the problems and prospects for improving it. It is intended for students, researchers and practitioners in corporate law.
